Sierra Still Life #1
10" x 8" oil on panel
The beautiful Sierra Mountains are a constant source of personal inspiration and periodically finds its way into my paintings. Living in the Sierra Mountain range, hiking and exploring the woods, streams and lakes, I sometimes, rather than focusing on the majesty of the panoramic views, find myself captivated by the complexed beauty of the area's micro elements. The glow of twilight as the sun dips below the horizon contrasted by the warm colors of few native wonders, attempts to offer the viewer a small scale experience of the feel and life of the Sierra woodlands.
Pictured in a hand rubbed dutch black frame designed and handmade by Slade as an integral part of the composition.
